- The coffees of Papua New Guinea, as much as 85%, come from small, native farmers and are grown at very high altitudes ranging between 4,200-6,000 ft above sea level. The high altitude is a direct contributor to the high quality beans produced in this country. The majority of the coffees in this country are organic, due to the costof fertilizers and pesticides; however, only a small percentage of these coffee plantations are actually certified organic. This coffee is well-known and appreciated all over the world for its’ excellent acidity, beautiful flavor and amazing body in one single cup.
